building regulations

Regulation 38 of the building regulations requires that, where buildings are erected or extended, or where they have a change of use," fire safety information shall be given to the responsible person at the completion of the project or when the building or extension is first occupied." See Appendix G, Approved Document B.

In other words, all fire safety provisions within a building, whether that be a new building or an existing building that has been changed, are required to be passed to the building owner or occupier so that they are able to understand why fire safety features have been built into the building, how they work and how they are tested and maintained etc.

We can assist by producing fire safety strategy documents that are written in plain English and easily understood.
